Our Story

Hi, I’m Samantha the founder of Ellie + Coco. I live in Abbotsford, British Columbia with my husband and two beautiful children.

I started Ellie + Coco in 2017 with an 8 month pregnant belly, a $50 sewing machine and living in a spare room at my in-laws house. I found some cute fabrics and made several topknot headbands for my baby girl. Pleased with the results I decided to open up a little Etsy shop and see if I could sell them. I opened my shop one night before bed and the next morning I already had my first sale! A week later Kyra was born and she was my first little model.

As more sales started coming in from my shop I was inspired to create more products. Whenever my baby was sleeping I was working away on my business. By the end of my maternity leave I was making enough income to stay at home with my daughter. After 2 years (and a lot of late nights, early mornings, and caffeinated beverages) I was making enough to move out of our in-laws house!

Soon after moving we found out we were expecting a baby boy! My shop was primarily geared towards girls so with a boy on the way I knew I had to start creating more gender neutral products. That is when I introduced my line of clothing featuring trendy boy and girl styles in lots of earth tone colours.

As you can see my products are inspired by my own children. I want the best for them and I know you want the best for your little ones too. That's why every item is made with high quality materials and lots of love and care. Every order helps to support my family and we are so thankful. I love creating beautiful items for your littles.
